Team Overview

Our team, composed of students from Avondale High School and nine dedicated mentors, competes in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC).  FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) was founded in 1992 by inventor Dean Kamen and is now a global program recognized by many colleges, universities, and companies that support teams worldwide.  Beginning in January of each year, teams have six weeks to design, build, and program a 120-lb. robot. Teams go head-to-head at qualifying events to earn advancement to state and world championship level competitions.  In each of the past two seasons our team has won a qualifying tournament and advanced through states to the world championship event.
